The Characterization and Differentiation of Recombinant Lumpy Skin Disease Isolates Using a Region within ORF134

چکیده

The recent description and characterization of several novel unique lumpy skin disease virus (LSDV) strains have revealed the inadequacy current techniques for differentiating between vaccine- wild-type viruses. lack reliable sequencing targets promptly distinguishing circulating recombinant vaccine-like (RVLSs) highlights need to develop a single simple differentiation tool. In this study, we analyzed available LSDV whole-genome sequences identified 705-bp region in open reading frame (ORF) LW134. Based on run nucleotide phylogenetic analysis, with 13 informative polymorphisms (SNPs) was capable accurately segregating RVLSs into same five clusters previously confirmed by sequencing. addition, archived from Russia were further using newly described PCR assay. ORF LW134 assay one RVLS as cluster distinct clusters, while clustering remaining samples designated lineages, demonstrating reliability assays study great potential delineating molecular evolutionary affiliation RVLSs.

Lumpy Skin Disease

Lumpy skin disease is a poxviral disease with significant morbidity in cattle. Although the mortality rate is generally low, economic losses result from loss of condition, decreased milk production, abortions, infertility and damaged hides. The causative virus seems to be spread mainly by insects, and outbreaks can be widespread and difficult to control. Lumpy skin disease was confined to Afric...

Lumpy Skin Disease

Lumpy skin disease (LSD, knopvelsiekte) is a pox disease of cattle characterised by fever, nodules 4 on the skin, mucous membranes and internal organs, emaciation, enlarged lymph nodes, oedema 5 of the skin, and sometimes death. The disease is of economic importance because it causes 6 reduced production, particularly in dairy herds. It also causes damage to the hide. LSD is caused by 7 strains...

Lumpy Skin Disease: Global and Turkish Perspectives

Lumpy skin disease (LSD) is an economically important infection since the presence of the disease affects cattle health and export of cattle products. It is caused by capripoxvirus and shows characteristic skin lesions in infected cattle. The disease was first reported in Zambia, in 1929. It then spread to Africa, Middle East and recently to European countries like Greece and Bulgaria. The firs...
